Could you believe that Sigourney weaver is over 60 years old and still going on very strong as an actress? Which movie you remember her best from is different for most people hover the Alien series is one that often comes to most people’s mind? The original Alien movie was released in 1979 when Sigourney was 30 years old and absolutely gorgeous just like she is today.

She played a good girl who turned mean after having to go through some very rough times with a crazy acid blooded alien. Seven years later the sequel Aliens came out where we see Lieutenant Ripley get revenge on the nasty aliens and save the day by rescuing the little girl and her hot to trot army company rescue man.

The Aliens movie was a short lived happy tale when we find out in the next movie that the alien has managed to stole away onboard the spaceship and causes it to crash killing both the young girl and the soldier. Ripley is left alone with a prison full of angry and lonely men who she has to fight off as well as the monster in the deep.

Another 1980s film that Sigourney Weaver was claimed to fame from was the Ghostbusters movies both the first and the second. At first Sigourney is seduced by the evil that lurks in her fridge until the team of Ghostbusters comes to save the day and bring her back from being a big evil dog. In the second movie it is her basted son that is the one the evil lord wants to possess so Sigourney and the team get cracking to fight the evil that is rapidly spreading throughout the city.

In the movie Copycat you will follow the story of one of the best crime solvers fighting her own private demons of not being able to leave the house. A complete wiz with serial killing he character Helen Hudson has to find this Copycat serial killer before she herself becomes one of the victims of his murderous spree. Another movie that was far from the action scenes of the first few was the Gorillas in the Mist movie where Sigourney played the role of an animal activist looking after the hunted beast and trying to protect them from the hunters and poachers.

Sigourney Weaver was born Susan Alexandra Weaver on October 8th 1949. Sigourney is an American actress. Her best known role is that of Ellen Ripley in the Alien movies. She is also very well known for her portrayal of the character of Dana Barrett in the Ghostbusters movies. Sigourney played the starring role of Dian Fossey in Gorillas in the Mist and was Dr Grace Augustine in Avatar in 2009. Sigourney’s’ work has been recognized with three Academy Award nominations and with winning Golden Globe Awards for Gorillas in the Mist and Working Girl.

On April 22nd, 2010 Sigourney was interviewed by Frederic J Frommer from the Associated Press on Capitol Hill in Washington. The interview is on concerns over climate change. Sigourney Weaver urges action to protect the oceans of the world. She feels that the oceans of the world are often left out of action to assist in the reduction of global warming. It is her belief that the oceans of the world are sensitive to carbon dioxide pollution, and she is urging law makers to pass legislation to limit carbon emissions.

A report from the National Research Council (USA), found that the chemistry of the ocean is changing faster than it has for hundreds of thousands of years. It is because of the carbon dioxide being absorbed from the atmosphere that this is occurring. The result of this change in chemistry is the increased acidity of the oceans, which poses a threat to marine life. The acidification of the oceans has been called Global warming’s evil twin. Sigourney hopes that the legislators will put aside their differences and enact climate and energy legislation to move America into a clean energy economy. She is also urging that steps be taken to protect marine and coastal habitats and reducing pollution.

James Cameron and Sigourney have participated in panel discussions on global environmental policies and on sustainability on Capitol Hill during April (2010). She feels that she is able to represent a lot of the American people who feel that there is urgency to dealing with the issues of climate change. For Sigourney Weaver this is a point of which she feels great passion. She was also at Capitol Hill to screen a documentary that she narrates titled Acid Test: The Global Challenge of Ocean Acidification. This documentary was produced by the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Sigourney Weaver

The movie started out in darkness and also finished the same way because space can be a very dark place where nobody can hear you scream. In the thriller and horror movie about aliens we got to get scared out of our seats with the great graphics back in the 1979. Years later in the third and forth series we see the graphics get better even though Sigourney only lasts for the first three movies. She is a kick ass kind of girl that the aliens have taken everything from so she is hell bent on revenge and killing off the aliens. By the fourth movie in the series which is alien verse predator we find out that the predators are bringing the aliens to earth anyway so what she did to stop them meant nothing. Sigourney has also done several other good movies that have done well for her Hollywood career. She was made even more famous in 1982 when ghost busters the movie hit the big screen and millions of people flocked to see it because not only was it going to be a scary movie but it was one for the kids to watch as well.

It was seven years until the next alien movie called Aliens where she was teamed up with a group of future marines who was sent in to kill the alien however through a sequence of bad events the entire platoon was lost and the alien managed to get off the planet. Sigourney also did the movie Gorilla’s in the Mist and played the part of Dian Fossey who was the famous woman that looked at the habits of the great apes. The sequels to Ghost Busters and Alien movies came out late in her career which she did as part of her obligations to the movies. In 1997 she was the wicked witch in Snow White which was a story to scare the pants off you if you thought it was just an innocent fairy tale. The Dwarves are misfits, outcasts and thieves who take in Snow White however the wicked witch still manages to find her.
